This week, BTA met with Louis Samenfink, Executive Director of ACE, to discuss recommendations that will improve the implementation of the e-manifest.
Some of the recommendations discussed were:
1. Development of a troubleshooting plan, when ACE becomes mandatory in the rest of the country.
2. Addressing the capacity of the system for the larger volumes that are expected.
3. More training for the users on how to enter the information, and more specifically, for the US-Mexico border training in Spanish. BTA will assist in reaching out to the different markets.
4. More training for CBP officers, so we can see consistency at the ports of entry.
BTA will be contacting all of our members and constituents, asking for their continued input on the program, so that we may best assist CBP in the implementation. If you would like to contact the BTA regarding the ACE program implementation pleasecontact us.
