SENTRI (Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection), a program that provides expedited CBP processing for pre-approved, low-risk travelers, was experiencing an applications processing backlog of up to a year in some locations. However, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced this week that the backlog of applicants to the SENTRI program has been eliminated as result of a new on-line application system called the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES)
According to CBP, GOES will be extended to members of Nexus and FAST, in an effort to fulfill the land and sea requirements of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.
BTA applauds CBP’s efforts to improve the efficiency of the application processes for these programs. Additionally, BTA continues to support programs like SENTRI that improve low risk dedicated lanes and expedited processing, as it helps focus resourses towards high risk arenas.

I was recently turned down for a Sentri pass( January 3, 2008) for being convicted of tresspassing on government property in 1966( I was surfing at the Trestles and the Marines arrested me). I was 20 years old and a student.
I have written a letter of explanation to the Omnabudsman as instructed and it has been a month and I haven’t heard from them. Can you please help?

Both of them are legally in the USA but the past week our oldest 7 years old, finally received her permanent residency, We wanted to know what steps to follow to get at least her involved in the SENTRI.

The CBPgov site lists two requirements with the application. 1. A drivers license from the State of Residency and 2. Proof of residency, such as rent receipt, etc. Our problem is that we are “residence” of the State of Washington (drivers license address is our son’s) and we are registered to vote there; HOWEVER, we reside in Baja California, Mexico. We have property tax receipts from there, as well as phone bills, etc. However since that wouldn’t match our drivers license “residency” we appear to be in a “catch 22″. Anyone have a solution to this?

tooke me almost 2 hours, I found out only 3 both was open from 5 both in San Ysedro, Yastarday tooke me one houre, lately wating time is almost an hour or more, I just want to know if we lost the sentri, It was froud by the government or we get the sentri we use to have befor. I hear comne from regular line at that time wating time is about one hour!
I would like to know why is it that the SENTRI lanes in San Ysidro are slow, slow, very very much slow TODAY JANUARY 22, 2009 I got there at 6:00 am in the morning and I crossed until 7:25 am. I did an hour and 25 minutes when we were promise a crossing of less than 25 minutes. Another thing that I notice is that only 3 lanes were open when they usually have 4 lanes. Today Jan 22, 2009 the border wait on the radio said; left side 320 cars per lane right side 90 cars and SENTRI 300 cars this is unbelievable!! Please do something about this!! stop giving more cards if you can’t keep with what you promise which was less than 25 minutes crossing.

I already have a sentri pass. I’m a resident and I had California license plates, I moved to Colorado and the car I had with sentri now has Colorado license plates. Can I just go to the office and change the information and still use the sentri pass or I can’t use it anymore because it has to have California license plates?
