Britton Mullen

President

Mrs. Britton Mullen is the founding Principal of BC Consulting, LLC, a full-service government affairs and strategic consulting firm located in Washington, D.C. Mullen has more than two decades of professional experience crafting and executing government relations and communication strategies that have helped shape federal policy over 20 years. She has successfully provided strategic policy guidance to some of the country’s top elected officials, corporations and trade associations.

BC Consulting is a boutique lobbying firm providing clients a unique perspective with extensive policy and political background specializing in transportation, cross-border trade, agriculture and tax issues. The Firm represents clients before the federal government, developing government affairs strategy and advising clients on political, regulatory and legislative strategy.

Mullen is also President of the Border Trade Alliance. The BTA is a grassroots, non-profit organization that serves as a forum for participants to address the key issues affecting trade, travel and security in North America. Working with entities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, the BTA advocates for policies and initiatives designed to improve border affairs and trade relations among the three nations.

Prior to launching BC Consulting, Mullen served as Senior Vice President at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP where she helped build and lead the transportation governmental affairs practice in Washington D.C. for the Federal Strategies Team, the lobbying services division of NMRS.

Before joining Nelson Mullins, Mullen was Vice President of Legislative Affairs at American Trucking Associations (ATA), the lead trade association for trucking, representing over 37,000 member companies to include every type of motor carrier. During her ten years at ATA, Mullen worked to educate policymakers of the essential role trucking plays in the economy while promoting policies to improve highway safety, security, environmental sustainability and profitability.

Mullen began her career in Washington, DC serving as Deputy Chief of Staff for Congressman Henry Brown, Jr. (R-SC), a senior Member on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Throughout her career, Mullen has spent significant time passionately serving on numerous Congressional and Presidential campaigns. In addition to her political work, she serves on several charitable boards.
