The Border Trade Alliance on April 9, 2020 sent this letter to Members of Congress, which contains recommendations on items that should be included in the next phase of Covid relief legislation.

The letter specifically cites infrastructure (including a modernized Coordinated Border Infrastructure program); port-of-entry retail; tariff relief; a USMCA implementation delay; produce quality inspections; the inclusion of 501(C)(6) organizations in the next iteration of a Paycheck Protection Program; and the prioritization of border communities in funds that are directed to state governments, as areas that Congress ought to address.

The BTA’s brief on a modernized Coordinated Border Infrastructure program, which referenced in the above letter, can be found here.
