BTA to DHS: Indefinite border closure to so-called “non-essential” travel economically harmful
The BTA has expressed its strong concerns in this letter that an indefinite closure to travel that is deemed “non-essential” could be economically devastating to border communities, which are dependent on cross-border commerce in order to deliver core government services.
Border Trade Alliance applauds Senators Cornyn and Feinstein’s bipartisan efforts to minimize trade disruptions with Mexico
The Border Trade Alliance today thanked U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for leading a bipartisan group of senators in urging U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to work closely with Mexico to coordinate that country’s definition of “essential businesses” in order to avoid disruptions to the cross-border supply chain.
Border Trade Alliance urges greater cross-border alignment in definitions of “essential” services and industries
The BTA on April 9, 2020 sent this letter to the secretary of Mexico’s Ministry of Health urging greater alignment between Mexico, the U.S. and Canada in defining an “essential” service or industry in order to ensure as few supply chain disruptions as possible.
